Co-Founder & Clinical Psychologist

Lusijah Marx, PsyD, is a psychologist who believes in the magic within each of us. She is passionate about healing work and about building community. Lusijah’s warm and humanistic approach has served thousands of clients over three decades in individual therapy, group therapy, and couples counseling. Lusijah recognizes that each of us holds healing wisdom and guidance within, and that each of us possess a “Self” that is often untapped or undiscovered. Throughout Lusijah’s career she has supported the people with whom she has worked to live fully in all aspects of adult life, up to, and including, the process experienced at the end of life.

Lusijah’s background includes extensive training in Internal Family Systems, hypnosis, guided imagery, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), meditation, Motivational Interviewing, and psychodrama, as well as various therapeutic modalities which work with movement, sound, and breath. Recently, Lusijah completed the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) program in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research, and the Inner Trek Psilocybin Facilitator Training Program. She will soon complete her training in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy with the Polaris Insight Center.

Lusijah is an inspiring and innovative leader. She left a career in nursing to pursue her doctorate in clinical psychology in the late 1980’s. In 1989, she founded Project Quest, an integrative health center established to serve members of the gay community suffering from HIV and AIDS. Today, the now named Quest Center for Integrative Health, serves the LGBTQIA2S+ community, as well as other marginalized communities, and all people seeking wellness based integrative health care. Lusijah continues her work at Quest Center as a psychologist and clinical supervisor.

As a co-founder of the Redwood Collaborative, Lusijah looks forward to working in the broader community, with more diverse populations, and to working with other innovative practitioners, to provide mental health services and professional supervision. Her emphasis is forward looking toward innovations and breakthroughs in mental health treatment interventions. Lusijah’s mission in co-founding her second integrative health care center is to help people live a conscious life focused upon compassion for self, others, and community, to help people live fully, authentically and with integrity, and to support all in pursuit of the ideals of social justice, love, and equity.
